Scavengers - or the result of early harvest

(Langstrup Mose, Denmark, June)

In 2006 the grass was harvested already on June 17th, while there were still many young animals hiding in the grass.

A Raven has found a dead animal.

A young Roe Deer became the victim of the early harvesting.

Both Ravens,

Buzzards,

and Red Kites enjoyed the meal.

The young Ravens kept a safe distance from the Herring Gull.

But Ravens like to tease!

When the Gull turns it back, the Raven bites its tail.

The Mother Roe Deer arrives on the scene and searches for her child,

which she soon finds!

Her frustration is obvious!

Here she tries to chase the scavengers away from the corpse.
